Relay is UCCF's mission and discipleship training year for graduates who love CUs. Relay Workers have a unique opportunity to serve on the front lines of student mission whilst receiving training tailored to help them apply the gospel in all areas of life. As well as a weekly programme of core study, Relay Workers choose an area of elective study to suit their own interests and gifts.
The Relay Science Network Elective gives science graduates the opportunity to explore the implications of the Christian worldview for the practice of science. The elective will help you develop a theology of science that is deeply rooted in the gospel and grow in confidence addressing common objections faced by Christian scientists. As a Relay worker, you’ll be equipped to disciple scientists in your CU and effectively communicate the gospel to science students at your university. For those considering a career in science after Relay, the elective will give you a firm foundation to build on as you seek to live and speak for Jesus among scientists in your workplace.
"I've genuinely found it so helpful to have an elective programme to follow along with, and the content has been so interesting. It's definitely bolstered my love of science and given me a firm foundation for hopefully pursuing science post-Relay, as well as a greater confidence in approaching big questions."
Alongside the elective study material, Relay Workers may choose to support the Science Network in a variety of ways, including creating digital resources, supporting a local Science Network group, meeting one-to-one with a science student, attending the Science Network seminar track at Word Alive, and helping to host online events.
